I've had an amazing burst of energy over the past several days! Since my BP seemed to stabilize last week, I figured it was ok to get some things done around here. I don't know if it's the "nesting instinct" that supposedly kicks in towards the end of pregnancy or just because I'm stir crazy being cooped up, but I've been incredibly productive this week. I cleaned our place from top to bottom, it was actually kind of ridiculous. I felt compelled to do things like clean all of the lightbulbs in all of our lamps and scrub the baseboards in the bathrooms. I was overcome by the irresistible urge to scour!
Of course this also means Marty has to suffer, I've found all kinds of things for him to do. But in good news, almost all of our baby gear is now assembled! Here's Marty putting the swing together:
And him being very proud of his finished product:
Even the cats have been subject to my cleaning frenzy. One of them made the mistake of breathing their funky cat breath on me, so I got cat toothpaste and have been chasing all of them down to brush their teeth twice a day.
Well apparently I went over the line, because I had a doctor's appointment today and got reprimanded for my climbing blood pressure and return of the swelling. The baby is still doing great, but the doctor axed my activities and ordered me to get my butt back on the couch to watch TV and eat bon bons like a good girl. Ugh! Marty' is of course enforcing the couch-arrest and he grounded me for doing so much when he wasn't looking. However, the doctor thinks it really won't be long before the baby is ready to come into the world so that's exciting! He thought less than a week now.
Oh, and here's a current photo of me at 37 weeks. I feel like I'm going to pop!
Oh my God, you look unbelievably fabulous for a full-term pregnant woman!!!! I couldn't help but laugh at this post. It reminded me of being pregnant and also being put on bedrest the last month for mild pre-eclampsia. My house was the cleanest it's ever been. And like you, my doctor lectured me for trying to do too much. Of course, I fell part-way through the attic floor into our bedroom closet and sprained my already fat ankles, so she kind of had a right to be mad. LOL! BTW - We love reading your blog and can't wait to see pics of the baby when she's here. Enjoy these last few days of peace. You'll miss them. ;)

Rebecca's definition of bedrest was anything that could be done before Steve was awake or didn't know about. I found her rearringing bedrooms and trying to move the washing machine once.

HAHA - that is hilarious! Rebecca I can't believe you fell through the attic floor! That would definitely get you busted for doing too much. And I love that our definitions of bedrest are about the same. Yesterday Marty was in the shower and I have to confess my first thought was "I bet I can get the freezer and refrigerator scrubbed out before he's done".
